Sept. 9 will mark the 27th-annual Rend Lake Car Show, and there are still openings to show off classic or hot rod rides.
"The pre-registration deadline is Aug. 31, so we encourage everyone to sign up early and not miss out on this great event." Said Benton/West City Area Chamber Executive Director Karen Mullins.
This year's pre-registration prizes include a US General Tool Box, a Craftsman prize pack provided by Changing Seasons ACE Hardware, and a travel Yeti Cooler.
Registration is also available the day of the event. The Benton Public Square will be closed to non-event traffic. New to this year, entertainment will be provided by The Firebirds, a local band excited to wow attendees with songs of yesteryear.
The show runs from 4 to 9 p.m., with prizes at 8 p.m. Food will be available at local restaurants around the square.
