An unexpected delight! Writer out to eat when she hears local band for the first time
Hunger was all I was thinking about when we stepped into the local El Ranchito Mexican restaurant for a Wednesday night dinner. Two steps into the main room and we heard music playing that filled the air with fun. There they were, four hometown guys making the room come alive.

Heritage Fest returns this weekend, with 90+ vendors
The annual Heritage Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday Southeastern Illinois College. Hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.
