ELDORADO -- Garden clubs from across the southern portion of the state gathered in Eldorado recently, as 103 members of garden clubs from District VII of Garden Clubs of Illinois met at the First Christian Church on March 22.

Gardeners enjoyed a day of gardening fun, fellowship, fundraising and good food. A president's meeting and general business meeting were held, awards were distributed, and a silent auction, raffle and sale were held.

The Eldorado Garden Study Club was honored to receive awards for its publicity press book, horticulture and club achievement. The highlight of the event was Luke O'Neal's "Timeless Designs" presentation, which featured the creation of several beautiful live floral arrangements using various containers to achieve looks suited to all types of events and home décor.
