Du Quoin and Harrisburg combined for 25 hits, but it was a sixth inning surge by the Bulldogs that saw them plate six runs and rally past Du Quoin 12-8 Saturday afternoon.
In a matchup of unbeaten's in a cross-conference showdown, Du Quoin (6-1) made four errors on the day, helping Harrisburg stay perfect at 8-0.
Harrisburg got on the board early, plating a run in the second inning and adding two more in the third to grab a 3-0 lead.
Luke Miller doubled down the right field line, scoring Dawson Griffith for the game's first run and in the third, Ethan Golish's sacrifice-fly to left field scored Grant Wilson and Cameron Ande.
Du Quoin responded with three runs of its own in the bottom of the frame as Peyton Foster scored on a passed ball and Owen Cornett singled to center, scoring Caden Hutchens. Camden Waller fielder's choice scored David Lee.
Reed Rider scored on a wild pitch in the top of the fourth as Harrisburg reclaimed the lead, but it was short lived as Harrisburg surrendered four runs in the bottom of the fifth as Waller, Aiden Bradley, Gage Green and Foster all scored for the Indians.
The Bulldogs rallied for six runs in the sixth inning when Grant Wilson's scored Luke Miller and Ross Rider scored on a Cameron Ande sacrifice-fly to left field. An Ethan Golish singled to center scored Wilson and Golish scored on Dawson Griffith's single to left field. Riley King, who singled to third, scored on Braden Burtis' fly ball to left field and Griffith scored on Luke Miller's single to right field.
The Indians scratched one more in the bottom of the sixth when Waller scored on Luke Baumna's single to center.
Bauman, Hutchens and Cornet all had two hit days as all three had one RBI and Hutchens scored one run.
Foster, Waller, Bradley and Green all had one hit, while Foster and Waller both scored a pair of runs. Foster, Waller, Bradley and Green all had an RBI.
Harrisburg was led at the plate by Griffith and Miller who both had three hits on the day. Griffith was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, while Miller was 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.
Ande, Burtis, Lester and Wilson all had two hits, while Ande had a co-team-high three RBI and a run scored. Wilson had a co-team-high three runs scored and an RBI, while Burtis drove in one run.
Golish, who had three RBI and a run scored had one hit, as did King, who scored one run.
On the mound, Noah Arnold picked up the win for Harrisburg, pitching two innings of relief, striking out four, while allowing one run on one hit. Chance Moscaredlli got the start, going four innings and allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits, while striking out seven and walking three. Mark Miller received Moscaredelli and gave up four runs on five hits with two K's and one walk.
Will Meadows got the start for Du Quoin, lasting 5.1 innings and giving up seven runs (three earned) on seven hits, while striking out four and walking two.
Aiden Bradley, who took the loss, gave up three runs on four hits, while Waller received Bradley, giving up two runs on four hits.
Harrisburg 5, Pleasant Plains 3
Harrisburg out hit Pleasant Plains 8-2 and scored three runs in the sixth inning, posting a 5-3 win Friday.
Griffith cranked out a solo home run as he went 1-for-2 on the day with an RBI and a run scored.
Brendan Bergan was 2-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored for the Bulldogs. Cameron Ande, Riley King, Luke Miller, Jackson Pittman and Grant Wilson all had one hit on the day.
Bergan and Wilson each drove in two runs, while Bergan joined Pittman, Griffith, Miller and Burtis as scoring a run.
On the bump, Pittman picked up the win, going six innings and striking out nine. He allowed three runs (none earned) on two hits, while Noah Arnold came on in relief to strike out two.
Harrisburg 4, Hamilton County 0
Ross Rider stuck out 12 over six innings helping Harrisburg to a 4-0 shut out win against Hamilton County Thursday afternoon.
Rider got the start and went six innings, allowing no hits and walking just three, while Noah Arnold pitched the seventh, striking out one and walking one as the Bulldogs stayed undefeated on the season.
At the plate, Harrisburg had six hits as Riley King and Cameron Ande were both 2-for-3. King finished with an RBI, as did Luke Miller, who went 1-for-2.
Ethan Golish was 1-for-4 with two runs scored, while Blake Stacey and Grant Wilson also scored runs.
