Eagles fall to Hamilton County in season opener

Eldorado opened the season with a straight set loss to Hamilton County, losing 25-13 and 25-6.
EHS head coach Lisa Craig said her team started our strong.
"We played good defense in the first game. Hamilton County has very hard hitters. In the second game we were just down."
Karis Lane was 11-for-14 on spikes with one kill and had nine digs and two kills. Kylee Oglesby was 6-for-8 on sets and 3-for-4 on serves, while Lexie Mitchell was 3-for-3 on serves with 10 digs. Tori Phelps had 13 sets and Lacey Hobbs was 1-for-2 on spikes with six digs. Emma Wargel was 6-for-6 on spikes and 5-6 on serves with 10 digs and one block.
Whitney Payne was 1-for-2 on spikes, Kaitlyn Mayberry had five digs and McKenzie Melvin was 1-for-1 on serves.
On Wednesday night, Eldorado lost in straight sets at Norris City-Omaha-Enfield, falling 25-8 and 25-13.
The Cardinals start the season off 1-0, while EHS drops to 0-2.
The Eagles were scheduled to travel to Carmi-White County Thursday night.
