Wildcats run well at NCOE

The Carrier Mills-Stonefort cross country team ran at Norris City-Omaha-Enfield Thursday where the Wildcats finished third overall, scoring 114 points.
NCOE and Hamilton County tied for first (61 points), while Mt. Carmel (118), Gallatin County (129), Pope County (138) and Thompsonville (158) rounded out the field.
Robbie Hadley led the Wildcat boys with a ninth overall finish, crossing the line at 19:17. Other finishers for CMSF included: Aidan Rollins (12) 19:40; Brandon Hambleton (28) 21:21; Lester York (32) 21:42; Malaki Metcalf (33) 21:49; Jacob Reeves (34) 21:50; Kyle Bristow (45) 24:23.
"Robbie Hadley and Malaki Metcalf had really good races today," CMSF head coach Mike Eisenhauer said. " They ran their best race of the year and I was pleased with the way the kids competed."
On the girls' side, Abby Whiting was 16th overall with a time of 27:28 and Emma Odum was 21st with a time of 20:04.
Previously, CMSF ran at West Frankfort, where Aidan Rollins ran in 18:11 to finish 22nd. Also competing for the Wildcats were: Robbie Hadley (26) 18:30; Lester York (66) 21:06; Brandon Hambleton (73) 21:32; Jacob Reeves (73) 21:33; Kyle Bristow (88) 22:30; D.C. Stout (94) 24:00; Malaki Metcalf 22:26 and Dalton Stevers 28:28.
On the girls' side, Abby Whiting was 48th overall with a time of 26:16 and Emma Odum was 68th with a time of 30:30.
"I thought the kids ran pretty well today for running in some really hot conditions," Eisenhauer said. "All of our times came down from last week. I was very happy with their effort, there were 24 teams today and our kids held their own."
