Benton boys make solid showing in cross-country state finals

Kyle Sneed of Benton High School finished the Class 1A boys cross-country state finals in top 100 Saturday, and the Benton cross-country team finished 22nd overall.

Benton qualified for the state finals in both the team and individual competitions, held Saturday in Peoria.

Members of the Benton team are Sneed, Joey Sample, Avery Potter, Brady Gischer, Ethan Krieger, Parker Sieveking and Kaden Beadle.

Meanwhile: Individual results are: Sneed, a senior, finished 95th; Sample, a sophomore, finished 115th; Potter, a junior, finished 137th; Gischer, a sophomore, came in 141st; Krieger, a junior, finished 161st; Sieveking, a freshman, finished 162nd and Beadle, a freshman, came in 166th.
