Three from Marion girls golf earn all-conference

CARBONDALE -- Three members of the Marion High School girls golf team placed in the top 10 at the South Seven Conference tournament held Monday at Hickory Ridge.

By placing in the top 10, those three golfers earned medals and all-conference status in the South Seven.

Olivia Gray was Marion's top finisher as her score of 97 put her in fifth place. Chloe Thomas shot a 101 and was seventh, while Kelsey Sinks took eighth place with a 105.

Carbondale's Josie Sykes was the medalist with an 84.

Althoff won the team title at 365 and Marion placed second at 416, with the fourth score of 113 coming from freshman Ava Lewis.
Centralia was third (454) followed by Carbondale (481). Mt. Vernon had just one golfer.

The Lady Wildcats finish the regular season Wednesday at Herrin.
