Jack G. Oertle, 90, of Carrier Mills died at 11:34 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 18, 2023, at Salem Cemetery. There was no visitation. Pastor Ryan Beck officiated. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is assisting the family.
He was born on June 3, 1933, in Chicago to the late Chester and Alice E. (Stonum) Oertle.
He married the former Alice Anita Russell on March 7, 1981, and she survives.
Jack was an Army veteran. He worked over 25 years as a machinist in St. Louis. He then worked and retired as a machine shop instructor at Vienna Correctional Center, where he was employed for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Anita Oertle of Carrier Mills; two children, Alicia (Patrick) Randolph of Marion and Russell (Melissa) Ridley of Albuquerque, N.M.; and two grandchildren, Cameron and Caleb Randolph of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a special cousin, Geraldine Gillespie.
