Kenneth "Little Disciple" James Norris, 80, of Benton, Illinois, passed away at 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at Benton Healthcare and Rehab.
He was born on Sept. 27, 1938, to Ira and Mabel (Huggins) Norris in Perry County, Illinois.
Kenneth was a Baptist minister and ran the Little Disciple Ministry. He loved playing gospel and country music.
Kenneth enjoyed being outdoors enjoying the sun and watching wildlife. Kenneth is survived by his six children, Debra (Gerald) Norris-Suttle, Sherry Norris, Tammy (Ben) Norris-Steele, Phillip (Cassie) Norris, Kent Norris and Paula (Trisha) Cornet; 11 grandchildren, Veronica Norris, Joseph Norris, Adam Melvin, Kaid Norris, Ben Steele Jr., Meghan Brooke Steele, Patrick Norris, David Norris, Cora Norris, Keith Norris, Cody Cornet; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Mabel Norris; one son, Mark Norris; one grandson, Phillip Norris Jr.; two brothers, Relmond Norris and Norman Norris; and one sister, Nancy Kinkaid.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Benton.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at the Sunfield Baptist Church, 3203 Route 51, Du Quoin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pate Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses. These will be accepted at the funeral home.
