MURPHYSBORO -- William (Bill) Eugene Sizemore, 83, of Murphysboro, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Bill was born on April 25, 1935, in Du Quoin to Roy and Mildred Sizemore, who preceded him in death.
Bill retired from Caruthers Elementary School District as a custodian. He also served his country as a Marine in the United States Marine Corp.
He is survived by his brother, Galen (Glenda) Sizemore; children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Other than his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie, and sister, Janet.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, May 14, at Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Josemon Hoem officiating. Entombment will follow at the Pleasant Grove Memorial Park Mausoleum, where military rites were accorded.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran School or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
