EQUALITY -- Mary Lou Barnett, 80, passed away at 6:40 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, in Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.

She was born April 18, 1937, in Shawneetown, the daughter of Charles Wesley and Margaret Irene (Gobel) Mann. She married Donald Ray Barnett on Dec. 25, 1956, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 2006.

Mary Lou was a member of Equality Social Brethren Church and Equality McLain-Glover Post 595 Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Barnett and Debra Barnett, both of Equality; son, Stacy and Sheri Barnett of Carmi; sister, Joyce Riley of Madera, California; four brothers, Willard Mann of McAllen, Texas, Jim Mann of Carrier Mills, Ralph "Ed" and Glenna Mann of Harrisburg and Jack Mann of Hampton, Florida; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Betty Borum and Carolyn Alvey; and three brothers, Max, Joseph and Charles J. Mann.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, in Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality with Pastor Jack Hall and the Rev. Matt Troxel officiating. Burial will follow in Cottage Grove Cemetery near Eldorado. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the funeral home.
