James R. "Jim" Rendleman of Carbondale

James R. "Jim" Rendleman, 77, of Carbondale, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017, in Carbondale.

Jim was born Oct. 25, 1939, in Los Angeles, a son to the late James R. and Oma Mae (Mileur) Rendleman. He was united in marriage to Wanda Lee Barker in Marion on July 25, 1990; Lee preceded him in death on May 12, 2016.

Jim was employed as a head lineman for General Telephone and Electric Corp. G.T.E. and retired in 1996 after 29 years of service. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Paul Stout Post 127 in Murphysboro and was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers I.B.E.W. No. 702.

Funeral services were Monday, July 24 at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro. Pastor Charles Allen of the Elm Street Baptist Church officiated. Memorials are the preferred form of remembrance and may be made to the Murphysboro United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Rob and Beverly Rendleman of Murphysboro, and Richard and Kristi Rendleman of Auburn, Alabama; three stepsons and daughters-in-law, Guy and Beth Roberts of Loganville, Georgia, Andy and Nancy Roberts of Marion, Wade and Shawn Roberts of Kewaskum, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Lucas (Samantha) Rendleman, Jenna (Tyler) Garver, Mallory Rendleman, Miranda Rendleman, and Maggie Rendleman; two great-grandchildren, Kale Garver and Alena Rendleman; one brother and sister-in-law, Rex and Norma Rendleman of Climax Springs, Missouri; one niece, Lesa Rendleman; eight step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren. Jim is also survived by a large group of cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one grandson, Ryan Rendleman. Jim's family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Jim's caregiver, Jodi (Ridings) Bradley, for her loyalty and dedication to providing Jim excellent care.
