HARRISBURG -- Marilyn June Skyles Rose, 83, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017, at her residence.

She was born Oct. 13, 1934, to the late Roy and Gertrude Elliston Skyles of Golconda.

Marilyn was one of four children, Barbara Skyles-Stevens (Robert) and James Skyles, who both preceded her in death, and William Skyles, who lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

She married Eugene D. Rose in 1951 at the age of 17 and moved to Rockford. Marilyn loved her family very much. When her children were young, she made most of their clothing. She played catch, attended ballgames, school events and church activities, and she was a Girl Scout leader.

She loved life.

In the words of her family, "We celebrate her transfer from this world to join her Lord and Savior and family who have gone before. Although we miss her dearly, we celebrate her life with us."
