HARRISBURG -- Jackie Troy Cantrell, 70, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017, at his home.
He was born Sept. 27, 1946, in Harrisburg, the son of Ralph and Callie Belle (Morris) Cantrell.
Jackie was trained as an EMT and also worked as a truck driver.
Survivors include his daughter, Jody Cantrell of Harrisburg; son, Jackie Cantrell of Paoli, Indiana; three sisters, Imogene Wilmore and Mary Coulson, both of Herrin, and Hazel Swears of Hurst; three brothers, George Bush of Marion, Charles Hill of Herrin and the Rev. Leo Hall of Norris City; three grandchildren, Callie Jo and Johnny Ellison of Shawneetown, Amber Michelle Cantrell of Harrisburg and Tyler Austin Cantrell of Carrier Mills; and three great-grandchildren, Gage, Jacob and Jayln Ellison.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Robert "Bob" Hill.
Also, a special thanks to Judy Blankenship and Christine Bowers.
A cremation service was selected, and there will be no services.
Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown is in charge of arrangements.
