FRANKLIN COUNTY -- Maxine Kling, 92, of Warfordsburg, Pennsylvania, formerly of Franklin County, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, in Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania.

 

Maxine was born Dec. 28, 1924, in Franklin County, the daughter of Hallie E. (Rhine) and Charles A. Dorris, who preceded her in death.

 

She was the wife of David H. Kling, who survives. The were married on Sept. 23, 1972.

 

Mrs. Kling was a great homemaker and cook. She also enjoyed dancing and country music.

 

In addition to her husband, survivors include her daughter, Susan R. and husband John Pare of Charleston, West Virginia; sons, Steve M. and wife Patricia Kling of Falls Church, Virginia, and David H. and wife Joan Kling of Warfordsburg, Pennsylvania; brothers, Jack and wife Rena Dorris of Benton and Charles and wife Tomoko Dorris of Pekin;13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren;13 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

 

She also was preceded in death by her daughters, Sharon Y. Shaffer and Doris June Gammon; sons, Jerry L. Gammon and Larry James Gammon; and brother, Bob Dorris.

 

Local funeral servicewill be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, in Pate Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., in Benton. Burial will follow in Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

 

Out-of-state funeral services were at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, in Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania, with Pastor John Hodge officiating. Visitation was from 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 21 at the funeral home.
