Chester High School, its students and staff, are grieving the sudden loss of girls basketball coach Pat Knowles, who died last week of a very aggressive and rare form of cancer. His passing comes within just weeks of the death of Jennifer Hittemeier-King, another beloved girls basketball coach, who died after a yearslong battle with cancer.

The memorial outside CHS was a means of allowing players and friends to pay respects to both King and Knowles while still following social distancing guidelines. The two chairs, basketballs, T-shirts and hats were tributes to the two very well-loved and respected coaches who will be sorely missed by the entire community.
