  • The staff at Marion's Don Sol are starting off the restaurants "Toys for Tots" drive with donations of their own. Manager Eugenio Martinez said the restaurant is sponsoring a drop of location for the program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve. The program was founded in 1947 by reservist Maj. Bill Hendricks to distribute toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. Don Sol is adding a benefit for its customers. Anyone who brings in a wrapped toy valued at $10 (receipt required) and up to donate will get a $10 discount on their bill.
