Veterans: State Wall of Honor wants you

State Sen. Paul Schimpf (R-Waterloo) is asking constituents to submit a photo and write a tribute to a loved one who has served in the United States Armed Forces, that will be displayed on the Veterans Day "Wall of Honor" in the Illinois State Capitol from Nov. 4-15.

"All of our veterans have made numerous sacrifices protecting our country," Schimpf said. "Submitting a photo and sharing a story will help all of us support and remember our Illinois veterans on this very important day."

To honor an Illinois veteran, submit photos and written stories (max: 250 words) along with the following information: Name, military branch (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, National Guard, Navy) and conflict served (Afghanistan, Iraq, September 11, Gulf War, Vietnam, Korea, World War II, WWI, Peacetime, other). Military photos are preferred, but not necessary.
