The 2018 summer reading program at the Benton Public Library will kick off on Monday with "a little bit of everything."

The program for children in grades kindergarten through sixth meets every Monday through July 23 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Each session has a theme and includes a story and snack.

The June 25 program is "Science Day." On July 2, the University of Illinois Extension will present a program on butterflies followed by the U.S. Corps of Engineers with a program on birds July 9. Bicycle Safety Day will be celebrated July 16.

The program will wrap up July 23 with awards and a prize picnic.
