Jessica Clarida, an eighth-grader at Marion Junior High School, is Marion Student of the Week.
She was nominated for Student of the Week by MJHS Assistant Principal Chuck Williamson.
Jessica said her favorite subject is math "because you can always figure out an answer instead of studying things."
When she's not in school, Jessica likes hanging out with her friends and going to church.
She enjoys reading books by S.E. Hinton, and her favorite movie is the original, "Jumanji."
Her favorite color in navy blue, her favorite food is Cancun Chicken from La Fiesta, and her favorite singer is Taylor Swift.
Jessica hopes to be either an orthodontist or pharmacist when she gets older.
"When I was dedicated to the Lord -- when I was born -- my grandmother wanted me to go into the medical field," Jessica said. "I want to go to a local college first, then go out of state to school."
