One injured in Deering Road crash

A West Frankfort man was injured following a single-car crash Wednesday morning south of Benton.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office reports Jeremy L. Ricketts, 29, was transported to a local hospital by Abbott EMS following the incident, which occurred around 9:15 a.m. on Deering Road.
Authorities say Ricketts was driving a 2016 Kia Forte northbound "at a high rate of speed" when he lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway.
No other injuries were reported. Ricketts was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
