  • When it comes to plants and landscaping, Marion resident Meril Chitkins is the first to admit, 'I don't have a green thumb.' But in her case that doesn't seem to be a problem, thanks to her kind and helpful neighbor, Jane Otte. Otte is shown here pulling weeds from the landscaping in Chitkins' front yard at her home on North Market Street, so she can plant shrub roses in their place. Chitkins' 8-year old daughter Sophia helped pull weeds from the landscaping, as well. Chitkins said that she's lived there for over a year and wanted to brighten up the front of the place this spring. Being rather new to gardening, she was thrilled when Otte offered to help. 'She's a wonderful neighbor!'
