Harrisburg High School girls basketball coach Jake Stewart was the featured guest speaker at the weekly Kiwanis Club meeting Jan. 17 at Ponderosa.

The three senior players -- Lotte Miller, Jessica Hopson and Matty Hawkins -- accompanied Stewart.

Stewart said the Bulldogs are ranked first in the state among Class 2A schools and are currently 5-0 in conference play.

With five conference games remaining in the regular season, he said he is hoping to clinch the Ohio Division of the River to River Conference title, which is an accomplishment that has never been achieved in the history of the girls basketball program.

Miller and Hawkins are both en route to scoring 1,000 career points, which should be achieved before the end of the regular season.

Stewart praised his players as all-around positive role models, both in school and in the community. He invited everyone to come to a game and support the Bulldogs.
