Earlier this month, with help from the Benton Fire Department's newly acquired aerial truck, Benton children and teachers were given an opportunity to take a seat in the crew jump seats and see the new equipment up close.
Chief Shane Cockrum agreed to return next month for Fire Prevention Week for a program with the staff and children.
The flag was donated and presented by the local VFW and American Legion, represented by John Metzger, American Legion commander. Metzger also spoke about what the flag represents and what its significance is to veterans and all citizens.
