Salukis give back SIU football players help clean up Chester, host free clinic for kids
The Southern Illinois University football team came to Chester Wednesday, June 22, to help clean up the community and provide a free mini football camp for kids. This was the second year Chester took part in the Salukis' annual Clean-Up Day program.

Sparta Stingrays at Red Bud
Sparta Stingrays met up with the Red Bud Waverunners for a dual meet at Red Bud Tuesday, June 21. Red Bud won the meet with combined team scores of 490 to Sparta's 168.

Congratulations to Sam Haury, the Sparta Stingrays Dairy Queen Swimmer of the Week. Sam competes at his very best anytime he is in the water. The coaches particularly noticed that while always successful in his events at meets, he is always striving to be better.

Bowfishing tournament returns to Randolph County
The annual Kaskaskia River Rough Fish Round Up is returning to Randolph County for 2022. The annual bowfishing tournament will be held Saturday, July 16, at the Jerry F. Costello (Kaskaskia) Lock and Dam in Modoc.
