Class entered kindergarten only days before the Sept. 11, 2001 attack on America

The ninety-eight members of the graduating class of 2014 at the Du Quoin High School entered kindergarten only days before the 9-11 attack on the World Trade Center. They were graduated during commencement ceremonies on stage at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds Saturday as the “Million Dollar Class of 2014.” Or, actually $950,000 as the night’s remarks opened with, “We only need another $50,000 and we take checks.”

Nine valedictorians to share DHS commencement stage Saturday

Nine Du Quoin High School graduating seniors will take the stage at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds Saturday as class valedictorians with perfect 4.0 grade point averages. It is the first time in DTHS or DHS history that has happened.

Pinckneyville Community High School commencement

The commencement ceremony for the Pinckneyville Community High School Class of 2013 was held Sunday, June 2 in Thomas Gymnasium, with music provided by the PCHS Concert Band, directed by Stephen Cannedy and Cathy Cunningham.Class President Shersty Stanton welcomed the crowd and Principal Dustin Foutch presented the class honors.
