Rend Lake College to offer miner training courses
Two training courses for local miners are coming to the Rend Lake College campus this summer. An annual refresher course will be held Thursday, June 29. Next month, a surface-only new miner training course will meet Monday, July 17 to Wednesday, July 19.

JALC budget based on best guess about state
Brad McCormick, chief financial officer for the John A. Logan College Board of Trustees, told the board Tuesday that "a lot of long days and late nights" had been spent putting together a tentative budget for the 2018 fiscal year with just a best guess at the state's contributions.
