Prep Girls Hoops: Marion holds off late run by Harrisburg

It was a wire-to-wire win for Marion Saturday at the Black Diamond Harley-Davidson Shootout as the Wildcats knocked off Harrisburg 33-29.
Harrisburg trailed by as many as 13 in the game, going into the locker room down 20-7 at halftime and had a chance to tie or win the game with four seconds left, but a turnover halted the comeback.
Marion's Jerzy Bittle, who took home game MVP honors, dumped in 22 points, while Lydia Phillips tacked on three points. Loris Johnson, Alexis Ucci, Lily Garrett and Kristen Kadela all had two points.
Riley Harrison, who had a team-high 11 points for Harrisburg, scored eight of them in the fourth quarter.
McKenzie Boyd added eight points for the Bulldogs, while Sidney Neal finished with four points. Kameron Adams tacked on three points, while Kailyn Moss rounded out the scoring with two points.
Harrisburg 44, West Frankfort 30
Riley Harrison and Sidney Neal both had 15-point performances as Harrisburg picked up a 44-30 Southern Illinois River-To-River Ohio win over West Frankfort last week.
Kailyn Moss added eight points, while Chelsea Davidson finished with five points. McKenzie Boyd tacked on two points and Kameron Adams had a free throw in the win for the Bulldogs.
Makane Cass had a game-high 17 points for West Frankfort.
Eldorado 49, Carmi-White County 39
Lily Mosby had a game-high 17 points in leading Eldorado to a 49-39 Black Diamond Conference win over Carmi-White County late last week.
Karis Lane also reached double figures for the Eagles, tacking on 11 points, while Adrianna Hendrix added eight points.
Alexa Haenel scored six points for EHS, while Emily Sigler finished with four points and Kylee Oglesby tossed in three points.
The Eagles were 11-for-13 from the free throw line, but trailed 9-8 after the first quarter. EHS outscored Carmi-White County 14-10 in the second quarter, going 4-for-4 from the line to lead 22-19.
Eldorado would go on to outscored CWC 27-21 in the second half for the win.
Gallatin County Roundup
Gallatin County split a pair of games on the hardwood as the Hawks took down Hardin County 52-12 Wednesday night, after dropping a 54-33 loss to Eldorado Tuesday night.
Against Hardin County, Carly Foster dumped in 34 points, while Kenzie Russell also finished in double figures with 14 points.
Alexa Sauls and Savannah Bickett each had two points for the Hawks.
On Tuesday night against Eldorado, the Eagles jumped out to a 17-9 lead and took a 25-13 lead into the locker room. The Eagles outscored Gallatin County 16-12 in the third, leading 41-25 going into the final eight minutes of action.
Eldorado put four players in double figures as Alexa Haenel led all scorers with 14 points. Karis Lane tacked on 12 points, Adrianna Hendrix tossed in 11 and Lily Mosby finished with 10 points. Kaylee Oglesby chipped in with six points.
Russell led Gallatin County 18 points, while Foster also reached double figures with 13 points, while Jenna Vickery had two points.
Gallatin County is now 5-4 overall and after Wednesday night's win, stand at 1-0 in the Greater Egyptian Conference.
