Behind a game-high 21 points from Kenzie Russell, Gallatin County held off Harrisburg in a 34-32 home win Tuesday night in the season opener for both schools.
Gallatin County (1-0) also got eight points from Carly Foster, including six in the final eight minutes to help seal the win for the Hawks.
Harrisburg (0-1) got a pair of nine-point performances from both Riley Harrison and Chelsea Davidson as the two clubs were tied at 23 going into the fourth quarter.
Harrisburg jumped out to a 5-2 lead and were held to no field goals the second quarter, getting five free throws from Davidson, as the Hawks held a 13-10 halftime lead.
Gallatin County rounded out its scoring with three points from Sydney Bickett and another two points from Jenna Vickery.
Harrisburg also got five points a piece from both Adams and Boyd, while Guyton tossed in two points. Sidney Neal and Kaiilyn Moss both added a free throw for the Bulldogs.
Gallatin County was scheduled to host Vienna Thursday and will take part in the Hamilton County Tournament, beginning Monday.
Harrisburg took on Mt. Vernon Thursday night and will host its own Harrisburg Invitational, starting Monday.
