Eldorado capped off its regular season finale and sent the seniors out in style with a 24-8 win over Edwards County Friday at Boz Adams Field.
The Eagles (2-7) put up eight points in the first quarter, followed by eight in the second to take a 16-0 lead at halftime. The Eagles tacked on eight more points in the fourth quarter, holding off an Edwards County club that also scored eight points in the final 12 minutes.
Eldorado rushed for 231 yards, racking up a total of 276 on the night as Parker Price was 2-for-2 under center with 45 yards and one passing TD.
Josh Owens was on the receiving end of that pass, finishing with one catch for 40 yards. Dylan Henshaw had the other catch for five yards.
Henshaw did most of his work in the running game, leading the Eagle with 15 carries for 90 yards and a TD, while Brock Cantrell had 65 yards on 10 carries. Chase Kittinger also scored a touchdown, finishing with 50 yards on seven carries, while Price had three carries for 26 yards.
Edwards County was balanced for 230 yards as the Lions had 127 on the ground and another 103 through the air.
Since Edwards County joined the Black Diamond Conference in 2016, the Lions are 0-6 against Eldorado. The Eagles have outscored Edwards County 210-79.
