Prep Volleyball: Eagles get early week win over Zeigler-Royalton

The Eldorado volleyball team closed out the week with a straight set 25-11, 25-13 loss to Carmi-White County on Thursday and 25-14, 25-17 loss to Edwards County on Wednesday.
In the Thursday night loss to Carmi, EHS head coach Lisa Craig said her club played with heavy hearts after the tragic loss of a classmate.
"The girls rose up and played (Thursday) after experiencing a horrible accident of a classmate and friend," Craig said. "I am so proud of the whole team the way they responded and chose to play in honor of their friend 
We had some good moments of the game. Our blocking has been a strong presence all season.
"It was a tough night, but these young ladies showed what amazing people they are. We at Eldorado would like to thank Carmi for their compassion and willingness to roll with the changes."
McKana Reid was 3-4 on serves with three sets and 6-9 on spikes with five kills and 14 digs. Lily Mosby went 3-3 on serves with five blocks and one kill. Karis Lane was 3-3 on serves and had nine spikes, five kills and two blocks.
Katelyn Mayberry was 5-5 on serves and 10-14 on spikes with four kills and five blocks, while Piper DeBose was 4-5 on serves with one block and five digs. Tori Phelps was 5-5 on serves with 17 sets and three digs, while Lily Gangard had two sets and five digs.
Against Edwards County on Wednesday, Karis Lane went 2-3 on serves and 5-10 on spikes with two blocks, while Piper DeBose was 5-6 on serves and 1-1 on spikes Lily Mosby went 9-9 on serves and 2-2 on spikes with one kill, while finishing with two blocks and two kills.
McKana Reid was 3-4 on serves and 6-6 on spikes two kills, while finishing 5-6 on blocks with two kills. Tori Phelps was 6-6 on serves with 15 sets, one spike and one kill. Katelyn Mayberry was 3-4 on serves with one ace and two spikes.
Eldorado picked up a three set win over Zeigler-Royalton Tuesday, winning the first set 25-14, dropping the second 25-22 and winning the third 25-15.
Karis Lane had six sets and was 10-10 on serves with one ace. She finished with 10 spikes, eight kills, four blocks with one kill and 14 digs.
Mayberry had 11 sets and was 5-7 on serves with one ace and 8-9 on spikes with one kill, two blocks and 18 digs. Mosby was 10-11 on serves with one ace and 7-9 on spikes with two kills, five blocks and 18 digs.
Reid went 16-17 on serves with three aces and finished with 18 spikes, eight kills, four blocks and 19 digs. Phelps had 30 sets and was 14-15 on serves, while DeBose was 6-10 on serves with one ace, 4 spikes and one kill. Gangard closed out the scoring with three digs.
