MARION -- Over 200 people turned out at the Marion Cultural and Civic Center on Thursday evening to cheer on local athletic hero Darryl Sullivan in the preliminary round of the high jump at the Tokyo Olympics.

Sullivan, who is currently attending the University of Tennessee, failed to make the finals, but his 7'1" clear was only about eight inches shy of the eventual Olympic gold.
