Harrisburg had eight hits, highlighted by a Sidney Neal home run in the fifth inning as the Bulldogs eliminated Eldorado 8-1 in Thursday's IHSA Class 2A Regional quarterfinals.
Kerrigan Payne picked up the win in the circle as she allowed one earned run on three hits, while striking out seven and walking three.
Emma Wargel took the loss for the Eagles as she gave up eight runs on eight hits, striking out eight and walking one.
Riley Wright was 3-3 with two RBI for the Bulldogs, while Mckenzie Boyd was 2-2 for two RBI. Joey Quinn was 1-3 with an RBI, while Neal and Payne had a hit as well. Mackenzie King was 0-1 with a sacrifice fly.
Harrisburg got on the board with two runs in the second inning as Wright had a one-out base hit and after being bunted to second, scored on a base hit by Boyd. Boyd then scored on an error.
The Bulldogs tacked on two more runs in the third when Payne led off with a double and Quinn's double scored courtesy runner Harley McCabe. Wright's double then scored Quinn.
Harrisburg tacked on four runs in the fifth, as Neal led the inning off with a solo home run. With one out, Payne was hit by a pitch and Quinn walked. Wright's base hit scored McCabe and on the throw home, Quinn went to third and later scored on King's sac-fly. Layla Borders scored on a Boyd's single.
Eldorado's three hits on the day belonged to Cydnee VanZant, Kylie Oglesby and Wargel and the Eagles' lone run came in the sixth inning when Lexie Mitchell walked, stole second and then scored on a base hit by VanZant.
Harrisburg will travel to Johnston City Friday to take on the Indians in the semifinals of the IHSA Class 2A Regional, starting at 4:30 p.m.
