The Harrisburg boys' soccer team fell 6-1 to Anna-Jonesboro Saturday at home.
The Bulldogs, who trailed 3-0 at the half, had "plenty of good shot opportunities, we just didn't connect," head coach Jared Butler said.
"We were short four starters (Saturday), Quinyon Thomas who was quarantined, Jack Winters who is out for the season with ACL injury, Josh Stewart who is out of state and Dylan Shackleford who is injured. Playing three to four games a week for the past month is taking its toll on us."
Keslyn Fricker had the lone goal for the Bulldogs in the second half.
"This week we have another three-game week and will be missing four players due to spring break, injury and COVID," Butler said. "Due to only losing one senior we are keeping our heads up and we are very optimistic about the next two seasons."
The Bulldogs are at Anna-Jonesboro Tuesday and will host Pinckneyville Thursday. Harrisburg will close out the week with a home match against Marion on Saturday, starting at 11 a.m.
