The loss wasn't as deep as their previous meeting, but the Du Quoin girls basketball team fell victim once again last week to Carterville.

There was no stopping the Lady Lions, who beat the Lady Indians 46-34 behind a jaw-dropping 31 points from Alicia Doyle. In their first meeting Carterville won 50-30 on their home court.

The Lady Indians kept fighting the whole game and bested the Lions 14-10 in the fourth quarter, but couldn't overcome the earlier deficit. Lauren Heape led the Indians with 12 points and five rebounds, followed by Abbi Mocaby, who scored 11 points.
