Benton stays perfect in Ohio with win at Murphysboro

In a battle of two SIRR Ohio rivals, Benton landed bigger blows in knocking out Harrisburg 55-41 Friday night
The Rangerettes shot 50 percent from the field, going 20-for-40 from the field, while finishing with two players in double figures.
Braelyn Miller had a game-high 14 points, while addisyn Miller tossed in 11 points.
Harrisburg was held to 41 percent shooting from the floor, doing 13-for-31 and was just 12-of-22 from the free throw line for 54 percent as Stream Black had a team-high 12 points for the Bulldogs.
Benton jumped out to a 15-6 first quarter lead and outscored the Bulldogs 21-13 in the second quarter to lead 36-19 at halftime.
Sesley Tedeschi and Ensley Tedeschi each added eight points for Benton, while Jacey Eubanks scored six points. Mia Wills finished with four points, while Remi Thomas and Kylie Cockrum both tacked on two points.
Vershay Guyton scored seven points for Harrisburg and Lauryn Gribble chipped in with six points. Riely Harrison, Sidney Neal and Kameron Adams all finished with four points, while Laynie Kleninfeldt tossed in two points. Fankie-Leigh Nicholes and Chelsea Davidson all had one point.
Benton 44, Du Quoin 34
Benton placed three players in double figures in posting a 10-point 44-34 win over Du Quoin Saturday in non-conference action.
Addisyn Miller, who is chipping closer to the 1,000th point mark at Benton, led all scorers with 15 points.
Braelyn Miller and Ensley Tedeschi each tacked on 10 points for BCHS. Eubanks finished with five, while Cockrum put up four points.
Loveleen Dunklin had a team-high 11 points for Du Quoin, while Lauren Heape finished in double digit scoring with 10 points.
The Indians also got five points from Delaynie Dearmond, while Grace Alongi and Ayanna Dunklin each tacked on three points. Abbi Mocaby had a fourth quarter bucket for two points.
Benton 54, Murphysboro 27
The Rangerettes improved to 6-1 overall and are now 5-0 in the SIRR Ohio after a 54-27 win over Murphysboro Monday night.
Addisyn Miller led all scorers with 26 points and is now under 40 points from reaching 1,000. Braelyn Miller also finished in double figures, scoring 12 points.
Eubanks and Sesley Tedeschi each scored six points for BCHS, while Emily Wills and Cockrum each tacked on two points. Ensley Tedeschi had a second quarter free throw for one point.
