]Admittedly, it's a day Addisyn Miller has been waiting a long time for.
In the midst of a global pandemic, the Benton senior wasn't sure if it was even going to come.
However, when Miller signed her name on the dotted line to attend Heartland Community College to continue her softball career, she was finally able to let out a sigh of relief.
Located in Normal, Miller said she expects to be used as a utility player and is excited to see where it takes her.
"I really liked the facilities and I like the campus," Miller said. "I really feel like it's going to be the best fit for me."
The process of narrowing down and deciding on a school has been taxing at times for Miller, but going into her senior season, she knows now she can relax and possibly have a little fun.
"I didn't even get a spring season (last year) and it's all been really strange. The junior year is when you try to figure everything out and make those big decisions.
"This past summer we traveled and played softball in different states since Illinois couldn't really host anything, but the overall experience has been really good for me, but I was super stressed about where I was going to go. Now that this is all done, I can relax."
