Wildcats finish fourth at South 7 Conference Tournament

Hayden Burns earned 2nd Team South 7 All-Conference honors, shooting an 88 and helping Marion to a fourth place finish at Thursday's South 7 Conference Golf Tournament at Hickory Ridge Golf Course.
Burns placed 10th as an individual, while Hunter Henry had an 89 for the Wildcats. Peyton Tanner and Kannon Bright both shot a 92, while Zach Plant fired a 105 and David Chen finished with a 109.
Belleville Althoff took home the conference championship with a 316, while Carbondale took runner up honors with a 332. Centralia, who was led by overall medalist honors Sam Beggs and his 73, shot a 334. Marion finished with a 361 and Mt. Vernon rounded out the team scoring with a 383.
Marion will be a part of eight other teams competing at today (Tuesday's) Class 2A Regional at Green Hills Golf Club in Mt. Vernon.
The Wildcats will be joined by Benton, Carbondale, Carterville, Harrisburg, Herrin, Massac County, Mt. Vernon and Murphysboro.
