Yellow Jacket golfers continue to swing away in Week 5 of the 2020 season. Chester hosted Freeburg Sept. 14 for a win over the Midgets and stumbled at Pyramid Oaks on Sept. 17 against the Trico Pioneers. For the season, the Jackets are 22-6 at the Week 5 mark.

Chester vs. Freeburg
On a dry, sunny day at the Chester Country Club the Yellow Jackets enjoyed a 35-stroke advantage over the Freeburg Midgets and won, 159-184. Chester's Jarrett James claimed his 7th medalist honor of the year; on his second shot on the 9th hole, he nailed his third birdie of the day.

Head Coach Chris Toledo said James led the Jackets with a round of 34 (-2) and junior Brock Vasquez set his fourth personal record of the year with a 54 for the JV.

Senior Jaden Mott chased James all afternoon and almost caught him, shooting a 37 (+1).

Junior Kaden Freytag recorded a 42; sophomore Chance Mott shot 46; Gage Hasemeyer shot 47 and Luke Miller who shot 58 for the day.

Meanwhile, as Vasquez was pacing the JV with his personal best of 54, Clayton Andrews and Lucas Thompson each shot 57, Aiden Blechle shot 60, Reed Welborn (61), Nate Heffernan (63), Jared Landeros (65), Matt Korando (68) and Isaiah Ferrell (72).
