Harrisburg standout Karsyn Davis played in three games for the Redhawks, starting in one, before the Coronavirus (COVID-19) canceled the spring sports season.
Davis reflects on a missed season in this week's edition of "In My Own Words"

I understand the tough decision the NCAA had to make for our safety and the safety of our fans and families. It was very disappointing getting our season canceled though. We work extremely hard all fall and winter for the spring season so we were all very upset when we got the news. We put in hours of work every day in the weight room, at conditioning, hitting practice, and team practice for it to pay off in the spring so a lot of us were upset that we didn't get to see all of that hard work pay off on the field. When we got the news we were in Tampa, Florida getting ready to play a tournament at USF. We got off the plane and our coach told us the news that our season was over and everyone was heartbroken. We had been playing extremely well and were looking forward to conference play where we were picked to finish first in the conference. At the time all of us were very confused and upset because we didn't realize how serious it was. Most of our seniors had played their last games without realizing it and had to deal with the fact that they would never play again. The NCAA is giving everyone an extra year to play but some seniors aren't able to return due to the fact that they have jobs already lined up and everything. It was very tough to deal with and I know our coach was very upset. Since we were in Florida, the next flight we could get to come back to Missouri was 4 days later so we got to spend some time together and bond before having to come back and go our separate ways which I know we were all grateful for. I am grateful to get this year back and am looking forward to what the next four years will bring me. It will be valuable to already have some experience as I enter my "freshman" year again next year.

My best memory would probably be the time we spent in Florida after we found out our season was over. We were all so upset and we just made the most out of the time we had left. It was one of the best weekends I've had.

The first thought or word that came to mind when I found out my season was over was "What?" None of us knew how serious the virus was and we were all just shocked. It was the last thing we thought would happen.

My plans now until I have to go back to school are quarantining and waiting to see what happens. Our strength coach sent us workouts we can do so I've been lifting at home in our gym. It's been such a change of pace. We went from traveling for 4 days and getting back to school for three and then leaving again. So I went from extremely busy to nothing at all. Hopefully this passes quick though.
