The Lady Panthers had trouble getting the ball to fall into the basket Thursday, and Anna-Jonesboro beat them handily, 42-29.

"We really struggled to shoot the ball tonight," said Coach Alan Engelhardt. "I thought we got ourselves some tremendous looks by getting the ball into the middle of the zone, but we were only able to hit one shot outside of the paint.

"When we did get the ball down low we were getting mugged," he added, but said the Panthers shot only 10 free throws on the game.

At 16-9 the Panthers will go into the Sesser-Valier Regional on Tuesday, Feb. 11 ranked #4, and will play a 7:30 p.m. game against the winner of Monday night's Sesser-Valier/Wesclin matchup.

"We need to continue to work in our final week and put ourselves in a position to get better as we head into the postseason," Engelhardt.
