Gallatin Co. beats Goreville for third straight win

The Gallatin County girls' basketball team won its third straight game and five out of their last six with a 44-31 victory over Goreville Wednesday night.
The Hawks (7-5) put three players in double figures as Carly Foster led the way with 12 points. Gracie Sauls tossed in 11, while Audrey Jackson tacked on 10 points.
MaKenzie Russell scored seven and Molly Newton finished with four for Gallatin County.
Sam Hicka had a team-high 12 points for Goreville and was the only Blackcat to score in double figures.
Gallatin County jumped out to a 12-7 start and led 21-14 at halftime. The Hawks outscored Goreville 13-8 in the third quarter to build a 34-22 lead heading into the game's final eight minutes.
Gallatin County will play host to Dongola tonight (Friday) starting at 6 p.m. On Monday, Gallatin County will travel to Marion and play at Carmi-White County next Wednesday and Hamilton County next Thursday. The Hawks will close out next week with a home game against West Frankfort on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Woodlawn 46, Galatia-Thompsonville 32
Galatia-Thompsonville lost its second straight game, losing at 46-32 at Woodlawn Wednesday night.
Bridget Taylor and Kate Bond each scored seven points for the Bearcats and Jaedyn Beers chipped in with six points.
Chloe Mays and Destiny Taylor each finished with five points, while Avery Evans tacked on two points.
