Herrin rolls past Lady Panthers at tourney

WEST FRANKFORT -- The Pinckneyville High School girls basketball team fell to Herrin, 45-27, in the second of three games at the West Frankfort Mid-Winter Classic on Tuesday night.
Pinckneyville led the game 12-11 after one quarter, but the Lady Tigers went on a 14-6 run in the second quarter and outscored the Lady Panthers 20-9 in the second half.
Presli Karnes led Herrin with 11 points.
Megan Breslin was Pinckneyville's top scorer with 12 points.
The Lady Panthers dropped to 12-9 with the loss.
The tournament finishes Thursday with Pinckneyville playing Sesser-Valier-Waltonville and Herrin taking on West Frankfort.
