Local runners season comes to an end at Sectionals

The Carrier Mills-Stonefort girls cross country season came to an end Saturday at the IHSA Class 1A Sectional in Benton.
Abby Whiting had an 88th place finish in a time of 16:57.
The Harrisburg girls were 20th out of 20 teams as Emily Jeffries finished in 121st place with a time of 24:21 and Ashley Hurst had a time of 26:41 and finished in 142 place for the Bulldogs. Other finishes and times included: Hannah Reid (150, 29:48), Madeline Johnson (151, 29:48), Selina Wang (152, 29:51) Claire McDermott (154, 30:54), and Madison Hannan (155, 31:09),
Eldorado's Whitney Payne was 62nd overall as the sophomore crossed the line at 21:05. Raela Milligan, a freshman, finished in a time of 23:14 and was 105th overall.
The Carrier Mills-Stonefort boys' cross country team was not one of five teams advancing to the state tournament as the Wildcats finished last in the 20-team field.
For CMSF: Aidan Rollins was 63rd with a time of 16:57 and Cameron Owens was 126th overall with a time of 19:01. Brandon Hambleton crossed the line at 19:07 and finished 128th, while Kyle Bristow (132, 19:29), Jacob Reeves (142, 20:10) and Mason Kalodner (121, 23:52) rounded out the field.
"I was proud of our kids Saturday," CMSF head coach Mike Eisenhauer said. "We had a good year and they were a very good bunch of kids to coach. We improved throughout the year and they had very good attitudes. I look forward to having most of them back again next year. I appreciate Tara Hadley volunteering to help coach this year and all the parental support we had this year."
Gallatin County's Will Henson finished 74th overall with a time of 17:10.30.
