A pair of Harrisburg baseball and two softball players racked up more postseason accolades as Bulldogs Isaac Crabb, Dalton Lambert, Karsyn Davis and Madeline Rider all earned Southern Illinois Coaches Association All-South honors last week.
The All-South honors come on the heels of the four being named Southern Illinois River-To-River All-Conference (Ohio) earlier in the month.
On the baseball side, Crabb hit .373 with an on-base percentage of .476 and a slugging percentage of .490. At the plate, the sophomore had 38 hits in 102 at bats with 34 singles and four home runs. Crabb finished with 22 RBI and seven runs scored.
Crabb did a majority of his duties behind the plate for Harrisburg this year, but he did work 22.1 innings on the mound for the Bulldogs, compiling a record of 2-2 with two saves. He finished the season with a .348 ERA and allowed 23 hits and 19 runs (11 earned) with 19 strikeouts and 13 walks.
Lambert led the Bulldogs with a .443 batting average this year and finished with an on-base percentage of .504 and a slugging percentage of .691.
At the plate, Lambert had 43 hits in 97 at bats and finished with a team-high 32 RBI and team-high 31 runs scored. He hit 13 doubles, one triple and three home runs on the year.
On the bump, Lambert had the Bulldogs' lowest ERA on the year at 1.145, but only came on late in the season and pitched 18.1 innings. He was 4-0 with two saves, while allowing 14 hits, five runs (thee earned) to go along with 25 strikeouts and four walks.
For the softball Bulldogs, Davis had a .450 batting average this year and broke the school's RBI record which she set previously as she had 42 RBI this year. She also had 13 doubles, one triple and two home runs.
Rider, like Davis, set a school record as she broke McKenzie Sullivan's home run record with 11 bombs this year. In addition, Rider hit .425 with 54 hits, 51 runs scored and 41 RBI out of the lead off spot. Rider smacked nine doubles and three titles.
Davis and Rider will both be seniors on next year's clubs, but both have already verbally committed to Division 1 softball programs. Davis has verbally committed to Southeast Missouri State University, while Rider has verballed to Western Kentucky University.
Lambert will be attending Olney Central Community College to play baseball as well.
