CARTERVILLE -- Five players reached double figures and the John A. Logan College women's basketball team upped its win streak to seven straight games with a 90-72 win over Lake Land in a Great Rivers Athletic Conference matchup Wednesday night at Brewer Gymnasium.
The Lady Vols are now 19-7 overall and 11-4 in the GRAC with the win. Lake Land fell to 18-9 and 10-6.
Kaili Bacon led Logan's scoring parade with 20 points and Destiny Cozart had 18, while both Bacon and Cozart had nine rebounds. Cozart narrowly missed a triple-double as she also dished out eight assists.
Farasia Hodge added 14 points and eight rebounds and Shaniya Whitsell had 13 points. Johnecia Kyles was the fifth in double digits with 10 points.
Alicia Hornbuckle chipped in six points and Marion's Nia Marshall had five points and three rebounds off the bench.
The Lady vols led 23-12 after one quarter and 41-31 at the half.
Avery Jackson led Lake Land with 25 points, including 14 of 14 from the foul line.
Logan is back in action Saturday at home against Southwestern Illinois College at 1 p.m.
