MARION -- Rayzhaun Bardo scored 22 points as the Marion Junior High School boys basketball team downed Carterville, 62-29, Tuesday night in a Big Seven Conference game.
MJHS is now 17-1 overall and 10-0 in the Big Seven.
The Wildcats led 13-5 after one quarter and 35-15 at the half. The lead was 56-24 after three periods.
Also scoring for Marion were Tariq Sanders (7), Deavon Margrum (6), Venson Newsom (6), Isaiah McLorn (5), Trevor Jackson (4), Quincy Kincaid (4), Devyn Wright (4), DaMareon Cooper (2) and Tyler Cima (2).
Caden Hawkins led Carterville with eight points. Colin Stewart had six.
Marion's seventh-graders also won and are now 16-2 and 9-0.
MJHS plays Thursday at Eldorado and doesn't return home until Thursday, Jan. 25, in the regular season finale against Carbondale.
