Harrisburg head coach Doug Cottom is usually quick to praise his Bulldog bowlers when he sees good things. That wasn't the case Saturday at the Herrin Invite.
"There isn't much to say about this one other than we simply were not good," Cottom said.
More importantly, Cottom's concern comes from the fact that Herrin will be hosting both boys and girls' regionals in 2018 and his hope now is that his team can figure things out by mid-January.
The Harrisburg girls finished third in the six-team field, while the Bulldog boys came in fifth.
Elizabeth Davis led the girls with a 1136 and Brody Irvin was tops for the boys at 1144.
Harrisburg boys and girls both won at Johnston City as Brody Irvin led the Bulldog boys with a 623 and Keely Reed was the highlight for the girls at 573.
On Wednesday, Harrisburg boys knocked off Eldorado 2566-2297 at Ross Cottom Lanes.
Nolan Davidson led the boys with a 607 series and he had help from Brock Bergman at 513.
Both squads are in action at Anna-Jonesboro today (Tuesday).
