Lady Wildcats place fourth at Herrin Invitational

HERRIN -- The Marion High School girls track and field team placed fourth at the Herrin Invitational on Monday night.

The Lady Wildcats finished behind Mt. Vernon, Centralia and Carbondale but ahead of Chester, Murphysboro, Salem, Carterville, Herrin, Benton, Harrisburg and Massac County.

Marion's Madeline Bruce won the 800 in a time of 2:23.63 and placed third in the 1,600 at 5:50.88.

Jaidyn Porter won the 200 dash in 27.10 seconds with Orea Cosby fourth in 28.31.

Quincy Gordon won the pole vault at 8 feet.

Tarynn Taylor was second in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.05, finishing just behind Carbondale's Destiny Harris (16.93).
